Water UK response to Affordability Review call for evidence

Water companies believe that water and wastewater services should be affordable to all customers, regardless of their circumstances or where they live.

Our response highlights that while more than 1 million households are now receiving reduced water bills, and many more receiving other forms of affordability support, there is more that needs to be done – and this is all the more important given the impacts of COVID-19 on many customers.

The policy framework for affordability needs to be reformed, so that more support can be provided to customers that struggle to pay their bills.

We encourage the review to be bold, so that together we can end water poverty.
